R. Kelly‘s finacée, Joycelyn Savage, pushed back against claims she’s being held against her will by the disgraced singer in a new video, but her parents say the footage isn’t real and are accusing someone of using artificial intelligence to fake her appearance and voice.
The video, released this week, shows Savage calmly stating she’s not a hostage, brainwashed and nor in danger. She also made it clear she has no intention of speaking to her family.
But her parents, Timothy and Jonjelyn Savage, aren’t buying it. In a video posted to Instagram, they claimed the clip was digitally manipulated and likely generated using AI.
They pointed to what they described as visual glitches, including a flickering shirt and out-of-sync audio, as evidence that something was amiss.
“We just want to make sure she’s fine, happy and OK,” Jonjelyn said. “The video we saw today. It still doesn’t answer our questions because the video definitely appears to be AI.”
Timothy added, “We really need to find what’s going on with our daughter,” and said they’ve filed two missing person reports in the past.
The couple insisted they’re not trying to rekindle a relationship with their daughter but simply want to confirm she’s safe and alive. They said her gestures, voice and tone didn’t match the Joycelyn they knew.
R. Kelly’s Attorney Responds To The Savages
However, attorney Beau Brindley, who represents Kelly, dismissed the AI theory outright, telling TMZ the accusations were untrue.
He confirmed he spoke to Joycelyn before the video was posted and said she told him the same things she stated publicly.
Brindley acknowledged the video had some minor technical issues, including a shifting image on her shirt and audio lag but maintained it was authentic.
Savage’s video, which reaffirms her loyalty to Kelly and distances her from her parents, has only deepened the rift between the two sides. The Savages remain publicly skeptical and say they won’t be satisfied until they see their daughter in person.
