As part of the Artist Partnerships team within Spotify's Music team, you will build strategic relationships with R&B artists, managers and key industry collaborators to lead Spotify's partnership strategy in the genre with a globally relevant perspective.

The job will involve working closely with many of Spotify's key cross-functional teams, including label partnerships, editorial, music marketing, creative development, and experiential marketing. The R&B Lead of Artist Partnerships will deepen Spotify's relationship with the R&B artist community by creating and executing thoughtful and holistic opportunities for artists, for the mutual benefit of Spotify and its partners. The role will also focus on driving innovative strategies to cultivate and grow Spotify's R&B audience, ensuring Spotify continues to best serve artists and rights holders while building the most exciting platform for audiences around the world.

What you'll do Lead all aspects of Spotify's partnerships with R&B artists, their management teams, and key industry partners in the US, developing and executing innovative opportunities that support artists' careers and Spotify's business objectives. Grow artists' careers by educating R&B artists and their management teams on Spotify for Artists and Spotify's platform and services. Work cross-functionally with editorial and music marketing teams to develop an R&B artist and audience strategy for the music team and load manage the execution of that plan, working with a variety of teams including partnerships, editorial, music marketing, social, PR, creative, and experiential. Identify priority R&B artists and develop a strategy to holistically support them on and off the platform, in and out of cycle. Work closely with North American label partnerships to evangelize Spotify's support and opportunities to R&B artists and their teams, and act as a strategic partner on releases for priority R&B artists, consulting and supporting them on key frontline release campaigns. Advise internal cross-functional working groups on campaigns and initiatives. Engage R&B artists/managers or create content that speaks to the R&B audience. Leverage industry insights and knowledge of cultural trends to develop consumer campaigns and develop a strategic approach to growing the R&B audience on Spotify. Work cross-functionally with Music Leads to ensure alignment and achieve company goals. Attend relevant industry events, conferences and shows. Travel will be required. What makes you unique?You have extensive experience in roles working directly with artists and partners, with a proven ability to build strategic partnerships and effectively manage relationships with senior executives.You have a minimum of 8 years' career experience in the music/entertainment industry, with an excellent reputation within your network and a clear understanding of market trends.You are an optimistic, self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit and a knack for problem-solving.You are comfortable working with cross-functional teams in large, globally distributed music and technology organizations.You have experience in either building global marketing campaigns or managing complex projects, with a proven ability to balance multiple priorities and deadlines. You have a deep understanding of contemporary music styles and broad cultural influences, always striving to stay on top of current trends. You are a true fan, understanding how fandom communicates and what drives and excites them. You are an open, transparent and clear communicator, able to express ideas and insights to a variety of stakeholders and present your work with clarity. You are comfortable analyzing music and audience insights and understanding how to apply them, thrive in a fast-paced, agile work environment, and can easily adapt and learn new skill sets as the situation demands. You are willing to travel and participate in evening and weekend events where a senior management presence is required. LocationThis position will be based in New York or Los Angeles and will report to the Head of Hip Hop and R&B Artist Partnerships.
