Roc Nation has teamed up with the NFL to create a new playlist for the 2024 football season, featuring artists like Benny The Butcher, Rapsody, and more. Titled “2024 Songs of the Season,” the playlist is a collection of music from established and up-and-coming artists from various genres, distributed by Roc Nation. The tracks will be played across all NFL platforms and broadcasts throughout the 2024-2025 season.
Benny The Butcher has credited JAY-Z with influencing his career, citing the rapper’s guidance and advice he received when signing a management deal with Roc Nation in 2019. Speaking to Math Hoffa in 2023, Benny praised JAY-Z for his honesty and commitment to keeping Griselda Records together.
“He is who he say he is,” Benny said. “He told me things that I didn’t want to hear, he told me things that I did want to hear – just all-around game… He was basically just trying to keep Griselda together. Not saying that we was leaving, but he knew n-ggas’ contracts was up.” According to Benny, their conversations were a three-hour exchange, where JAY-Z asked about his plans, expressing interest in potentially signing him to Roc Nation.
